چکیده
Abstract In this paper, I present an account of group competence that is explicitly framed for cases epistemic performances. According to it, we must consider as the agents’ capacity produce knowledge, and not result summation its individual members’ competences knowledge. Additionally, contend be understood in terms normative status. To introduce my view, Jesper Kallestrup’s (Synthese 1–19, 2016) denial involves anything over beyond aggregation competences. have divided response into two parts. First, compare conceptions from Ernest Sosa’s reliabilist virtue epistemology (Sosa Philos Stud 142:5–15, 2009; Perspect 24:465–475, 2010a; Knowing full well, Princeton University Press, 2010b; Judgment & agency, Oxford 2015; Epistemology, 2017; in: Silva-Filho, Tateo (eds), Thinking about oneself: The place value reflection philosophy psychology, Springer, 2019) David Löwenstein’s (Know-how competence. A Rylean responsibilist account, Vittorio Klostermann, 2017) know-how. Second, take results comparison apply them issue know-how, by hand Orestis Palermos Deborah Tollefsen’s twofold approach topic (Palermos Tollefsen, Carter, Clark, Kallestrup, Palermos, Pritchard (eds) Socially extended epistemology, 2018). Epistemic Issues and Group Knowledge
Formal models for group knowledge can help philosophers gain additional insight into the ramifications of the philosophical concepts that they propose by clarifying the abstract properties of these concepts and their relationship to alternative proposals. To date, however, formal treatments of group knowledge have remained largely disjointed from the related philosophical discussions and are th...
متن کاملGroup Knowledge and Epistemic Defeat
If individual knowledge and justification can be vanquished by epistemic defeaters, then the same should go for group knowledge. Lackey (2014) has recently argued that one especially strong conception of group knowledge defended by Bird (2010) is incapable of explaining how it is that (group) knowledge is ever subject to ordinary mechanisms of epistemic defeat. Lackey takes it that her objectio...
متن کاملGroup synthesis for parametric temporal-epistemic logic
We investigate parameter synthesis in the context of temporalepistemic logic. We introduce CTLPK, a parametric extension to the branching time temporal-epistemic logic CTLK with free variables representing groups of agents. We give algorithms for automatically synthesising the groups of agents that make a given parametric formula satisfied. We discuss an implementation of the technique on top o...
متن کاملGroup 4 Toward an Epistemic Web
Introduction In the beginning knowledge was local. With the development of more complex forms of economic organization knowledge began to travel. The Library of Alexandria was the fulfillment—however partial and transitory—of a vision to bring together all the knowledge of the world. But to obtain the knowledge one had to go to Alexandria. Today the World Wide Web promises to make universally a...
متن کاملCompleteness of Epistemic Coalition Logic with Group Knowledge
Coalition logic is one of the most popular logics for multi-agent systems. While epistemic extensions of coalition logic have received much attention, existence of their complete axiomatisations has so far been an open problem. In this paper we settle several of those problems. We prove completeness for epistemic coalition logic with common knowledge, with distributed knowledge, and with both c...
